Guidelines: “Credit for Equivalency” will be considered for three general areas.
College Courses
1. Any person who has successfully completed a college course that covers
the same material as found in a book for examination or a book for report
shall be granted Credit for Equivalency for that portion of the course of
study.
2. If, in the opinion of the district chair, the college course was extensive
enough to adequately cover the content of more than one book for exam and/or
book for report, credit can be given for all content covered. Care must be
taken in such cases to not offer too much Credit for Equivalency in such
cases, but only the amount that can be legitimately justified.
3. If a college course does not specifically address the material covered
by a book for exam, credit can be given for a book for report if at least
three hours of course instruction addressed the content covered by the book
for report.
4. The chairman has the right to request any independent verification deemed
necessary to adequately evaluate the participant’s request for Credit
for Equivalency.
5. The decision of the district chair regarding this matter is final.
Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Etc.
1. Regarding books for exam: A workshop, etc. can be accepted as Credit
for Equivalency for one book for exam if (a) The material covered was the
same material found in the book, and (b) If there was a minimum of 8 hours

2. Regarding books for report: A workshop, etc. can be accepted as Credit
for Equivalency for one book for report if (a) The material covered was the
same material found in the book, and (b) If there was a minimum of 3 hours

3. The district chair has the right to request any independent verification

to the material. This verification may include requesting a copy of all or
part of the syllabus, an interview with the student, or other information

satisfied due to life or vocational experience; (b) Provide a detailed description
of the experience so it may be adequately evaluated; and (c) Address why
the student believes this experience satisfies the specific requirements
mentioned above.
2. The chair has the right to request any independent verification deemed
necessary to facilitate an informed, accurate decision regarding the request
for Credit for Equivalency.

approve the request with modifications, request additional information or
verification, or denial of the request.
