Four young men were ordained as elders: Rev. Jeffrey Williamson, Atlantic District; Rev. Kurt Kettner, Southwest District; Rev. Mike Murrell and Rev. Ben Williamson, Central Lakes District.

 

Delegates ratified the election of Rev. Constantino Cardenas as general superintendent of the EMC in Mexico for 2002-2006. His wife, Maria, is at his side.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion was served to members of the conference who renewed their covenant with God

 

Teacher, Dr. John Oswalt, described the difference between the biblical world view and the secular world view, warning that the secular world view has infiltrated the church.

 

Speakers, Drs. Paul and Kay Rader of the Salvation Army, delivered messages on living practical holiness.

General Conference opened with the Procession of Flags and a Concert of Prayer. Following the formal service, delegates gathered in small groups to offer prayer for the conference.
