Christian Education
The Bible is the greatest book in the
world. It provides a record of Gods dealings with humanity through
the centuries. For the Bible to be of any value to anyone, it must
be read and studied. As Simon Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, to whom
shall we go? You have words of eternal life" (Jn. 6:68).
Peter, as did the other disciples, recognized that Jesus spoke words of
eternal life. It must be remembered that these words of eternal
life were not all originally in a book. Some were written down,
but almost the entire Bible was spoken before it was written. It
was spoken by men of spirituality, of originality, of power, men who
walked with God: the prophets who spoke with earnestness the great
messages of God; Jesus, from whose lips the words of eternal life came
in their original love and grace; Paul, who spoke to all people in all
places in the Roman Empire. We today are at a very great
disadvantage because we must read what was originally spoken with great
care, particularly since the historical background, the date of
authorship and original intent of the writing is overlooked. For
this reason, we at Christ Church take Paul's encouragement to Timothy to
study the Bible to be "...equipped for every good work" (2 Tim. 3:16,
17).
We cordially invite you to participate
